Held annually the 4th weekend in October.

Come, all ye knights and damsels, to a celebration of the Renaissance!   Alabama's annual Renaissance Faire, a glimpse of times past, promises to thrill and excite everyone who attends!   The King and Queen invite you to see daring acts, take part in Medieval games, and hear musicians playing authentic instruments.   It is decreed, there is no tariff to enter our kingdom!

The Renaissance Faire covers the period of time from the 12th through the 16th centuries.   Authentic costumes, arts and crafts, and food are all a part of the Faire, as well as wandering minstrels, magicians, and chamber singers.  Bring the family.  Stay the weekend.  The Alabama Renaissance Faire is an event you will always remember!

There is so much to see and do at the Alabama Renaissance Faire!  Artisans and Merchants offer coins of the realm, hand-thrown pottery, jewelry, dried flower wreaths, and many other delights.  Magicals, Mirthmakers and Minstrels wander about in period attire.  Come as you are or dress in costume.

ADMISSION IS FREE!

Time Data:  Saturday, open at 10:00 a.m., Sunday open at noon.  Closes at 6:00 p.m.

Picnics or tailgate parties are just fine!  Alcohol is not allowed, as the site is a public park.  There are no restrictions on animals at this time.

Everyone is encouraged to wear Medieval/ Renaissance costumes.  We have a large percentage of faire-goers in costume because of a free costume-making workshop prior to the faire. The Patron weapon policy permits period blades (i.e. swords and daggers) to be worn with costumes. Firearms are not permited.

The Faire is held in downtown Florence at Wilson Park - on the corner of Tuscaloosa Street and Wood Avenue (go to the Maps page for more detailed directions).  Florence, Alabama is located 120 miles south of Nashville; 145 miles east of Memphis; and 125 miles north of Birmingham.
